'The Better Part of Me' is Greg's debut CD and reflects an eclectic blend of musical styles including acoustic rock, pop, and even a touch of folk - no surprise given influences such as James Taylor, John Mayer, Train and Damien Rice. Insightful, heartfelt lyrics on several tracks have helped Burton earn industry recognition through awards granted by the Billboard Song Contest, John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Great American Song competition and the Mid Atlantic Song Contest. But no description would be complete without mention of perhaps Greg's greatest asset, his voice. Whether bellowing in full voice or toying with a soft falsetto, Greg's vocal ability shines due in large part to origins in a cappella music. Greg started his music career with one of New York City's hottest a cappella singing groups. Known for their soulful sound and diverse repertoire, the six member group made a name for itself in some of New York's most noted clubs. Their unique style landed them a job as warm-up vocalists for the now classic Cosby Show, as well as national television and radio appearances on Late Night with David Letterman, Regis and Kathie Lee, The Howard Stern Show, PBS Great Performance Series and Garrison Keillor's American Radio Company of the Air. Greg has also performed as a background vocalist for world renown recording artists Sting, Tina Turner, George Michael, and Tom Jones. A work of art is the best way to describe Greg's music. Though this debut CD is heavily guitar driven, it is his lyrics and voice that draws listeners in for a joyride full of emotions and introspective thoughts.
