Radio Wires

Radio Wires is an incredibly pleasing mix of roots-influenced vocals, guitar chords, and riffs supported by rich bass lines, rock-steady rhythms, strong hooks and haunting melodies that display a depth of talent and inspiration rarely found in a young band. Lyrics filled with timeless and searching themes push the album well beyond girl pop and position it more appropriately in a sphere suggestive of artists who have spent decades expressing ideas of a similar vein. The album displays an underpinning of broad-appeal rock-n-roll while revealing a level of structural, lyrical and instrumental development that is delightfully original and current. The Rasmussen trio's grace and sense of purpose, while unveiling their original brand of eclectic indie-rock, is a definitive break from current trends in all-female collaborations or bands. On the heels of the band's 5-song EP, Take Control, released in January of 2012, Radio Wires emerged from an unexpected juncture in the band's recent development. After losing their lead guitarist in the spring of 2012 to her college pursuits, the three sisters made a pivotal decision to restructure the band into a trio. Recognizing the freedom that working as a family suddenly allowed them, the band began a rapid song-writing period over the course of a few months in the fall of 2012 which led to the creation of 9 new songs. The band immediately engaged the production support of Patrick Himes, of Reel Love Recording Co., in Nashville, TN who had engineered and recorded Take Control in the fall of 2011. Over two brief weekends in mid-January of 2013, Himes and the band laid down all nine tracks on Radio Wires. The resulting album is a refreshingly straight-up compilation of music that honors rock's roots while showcasing the band's inherent talent for original song-writing and authentic musical innovation and creativity. ~ Good English is a three-sister rock band from Dayton, OH that has built it's unique sound, developed over the course of the band's four year existence, on a bed-rock of indie, roots, and blues rock. Their original songwriting, authentic instrumentation and rich vocals combined with their youth, grace and beauty make the band a powerfully appealing sonic and visual package.
