The third album proper from Sheffield's finest blues band, 'In Our Gun' shows just why Gomez - Ian Ball, Paul Blackburn, Tom Gray, Ben Ottewell and Olly Peacock - are one of the most successful UK bands of the last five years. A weird amalgam of rambunctious horns, Beefheart-ian blues and unpredictable beats, the band have always blazed their own musical trail; a hybrid style that is hard to define yet instantly recognizable as Gomez. 'In Our Gun' is another musical journey, a typicallyrich brew that displays even greater strength and depth of songwriting and, significantly, a better mastery of deep-rooted Americana than most US bands. '02年発表｡彼らの2年半ぶり実質3作目は､出色の出来｡いわゆる新機軸があるわけでないけど､どの曲も初めて音楽に触れたときの不思議さと驚きにあふれている｡それでもって幾分たそがれた味わい｡特に7曲目｡彼らがここまで切なさを音に託したのは初めてだろう｡ある意味全曲ｷｭｯﾁｰなだけに､何曲ｼﾝｸﾞﾙになったかも楽しめた｡
