Gloria Waldman is a charismatic cabaret singer who has performed to standing room only audiences in New York City at Don't Tell Mama, The Village Gate, Sweetwater's, The Triad, Jason's on the Park, The Red Blazer, La Place, Steve McGraw's, the legendary Cotton Club and in Puerto Rico at Caf del Puerto, Alejandro's and Caf de Artistas. Her GLORIA WALDMAN SWING COMBO currently performs in Florida. In her debut album, Gypsy in My Soul, Waldman swings the standards with a sultry, jazzy style that captivates and invites you in. This is an album for cozying up or dancing cheek to cheek with that someone special as she pays tribute to Berlin, the Gershwins, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Ray Noble, Sammy Cahn and other treasured composers. A seasoned performer in Spanish, she draws us into this romantic world with her soulful renditions of the much loved Latin standards, Bsame Mucho, It's Impossible/Somos Novios and Cmo Fue in the original Spanish. Her intimate, easy style, vocally honest and pure, is enhanced by the masterful arrangements of Moiss Herrera, internationally known composer, pianist, orchestra director, arranger, producer of recordings, musical theatre and commercials in his native Colombia. His original music has been widely interpreted in Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center, Miami's Adrienne Arsh Center and Madrid 's Teatro Real . His inspired playing and arrangements infuse new life into the American Song Book and familiar Latin favorites. Waldman's swinging, breezy style and her intimate and expressive renditions of pop classics are influenced by her favorite singers, Rosemary Clooney, Carmen McCrae, Helen Forrest, Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy LaMott.
