2013 two CD collection, a second volume of rarities from legendary Disco/Electronic producer Giorgio Moroder's back catalog. Moroder's Musicland Studios produced the most influential Disco music outside America in the 1970s and 1980s and this collection takes in the genre's heyday. Includes tracks from Marsha Hunt, Donna Summer, Munich Machine, Speed Limit, Trax, Keith Forsey, Diana DeWitt and many others.

ゴッドファーザー･オブ･ディスコ、ジョルジ...

ゴッドファーザー･オブ･ディスコ、ジョルジオ･モロダーのレア･トラックを集めたコンピ。モロダー名義ですが盟友ピート･ベロッテ単独のプロデュース曲も多くあることから、モロダー･ワークス集というよりも、モロダー･ファミリーあるいはモロダー･サウンド集といった趣。「恋の星占い」やミューニック・マシーン、先頃アルバムがＣＤ化されたスージー・レイン等の有名どころもありますが、他はかなりのレア度が高いナンバーが揃っています。とくに注目はドナ・サマーの幻のシングル・オンリー「Virgin Mary」。ソングリストには載ってませんがひっそり(おそらく）初ＣＤ化。とはいえいわゆるミュンヘン・ディスコではなく彼女のヨーロッパでのファースト・アルバムっぽいヴォーカル・ナンバーです。個人的にはベロッテ・プロデュースのトラックス「ウォッチ・アウト」が嬉しい収録。ドナの「ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム」に酷似のアッパーなミュンヘン・ディスコ、フル・アルバム・バージョンで初ＣＤ化ぞ。当時日本盤シングルも出てちょっとヒットしたので、聴きたかった人も多いでしょう。とにかく、大メジャー曲を排した選曲でモロダー･ファン、マニアにはたまらない作品です。筒美京平コンピもこれくらいのものを出してくれれば有難いですが。
