Trombonist and composer George Lewis is a scholar in the fields of improvisational and experimental music and a computer music pioneer. He has performed alongside prolific artists such as Count Basie and John Zorn. This collection from Black Saint/Soul Note includes five of his classic albums stretching across three decades: Shadowgraph (1977), Jila-Save! Mon.-The Imaginary Suite (1979), Homage to Charles Parker (1979), Change of Season (1986) and Dutch Masters (1991). This box set spans the genre from chamber jazz to impressionistic soundscapes.
