Product Description

2014 remastered reissue of his 1975 album with a bonus track. This was his the last album released on Apple Records at the time. Most of the album was recorded at A&M Studios in L. A.. Guest musicians include Leon Russell, Jim Keltner, Carl Radle, Jim Gordon, Klaus Voorman, Nicky Hopkins, Gary Wright, Jim Horn & many more. Singles released from this album were You& This Guitar Can't Keep from Cryin' (his follow up to his Beatles song While My Guitar Gently Weeps). The original vinyl LP cover had a unique textured cover sleeve.

中学生のころYouが流行っていた。アルバムの中でこの曲だけ雰囲気が違うが作曲された時期がこれだけずれているらしい。 アルバム全体は地味。しかしこれがいいのです。YouとラストのLex以外はぼーっとしているとどれも同じ曲に聴こえるがこれが妙な一体感を醸し出し、延々と続くハリソンワールドを作り出す。 ラストのLexが締めくくり曲として最高の雰囲気を出している。Youがハリソンワールドへの案内を務め、Lexでハチャメチャなお祭り騒ぎで（曲自体は派手ではないがお祭り騒ぎを感じさせる）締めくくる感じ。 This Guitarは確かにGently Weepsを思い起こさせますが、Gently Weepsほどの盛り上がりはありません。

同時代的な印象としてはこのころは低迷していたように思います。ただし、シングルとなった「ＹＯＵ」はスマッシュヒットで、ビルボードで２０位台にまでいったような記憶があります。「ＹＯＵ」は、本当に大好きでした。アップテンポなのに泣けました。今でもあのころの空気がよみがえります。
