Product Description

In the tradition of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen comes a spiritually enriching and inspirational, musically eclectic, CD. Offering tunes in genres as varied as reggae, folk rock, bluegrass, rap and rhumba(!) this auspicious debut will open your heart and inspire you to live a happier life and to want to assist those who are working to restore individual freedom and help make a better world. Spirits In The Silence documents one man's evolution from pre-Occupy movement liberty activism against oppression and corruption from corporate and government influences to a spiritual path of equanimity, affirmative prayer and his discovery that 'you can't change the world, you can only change how you see the world. But, when you change how you see the world... The world changes'. Lyrics to four of the 14 songs (13 originals and one cover version) best demonstrate the path which culminated in this work. The ACTIVIST BIG BROTHER SONG from my activism days in Los Angeles circa 2008 and it was just too good a song to leave off this CD and also because Jon Magnificent who plays everything but vocals and distorted harmonica is rising to stardom rapidly. Musically it rocks harder than anything else on the CD so it gives the CD a harder edge overall and demonstrates a different aspect to my musical repertoire. LYRICS: Chorus: If Big Brother is watchin me he ain't gonna like what he's gonna see If Big Brother is watchin now we ain't afraid anyhow he thinks he'll make slaves of you and me but he doesn't know his history he underestimates the human race we're gonna dance right on his face he can tap our wires read our emails too he can put GPS in our Fruit of the Looms he can hear every single word that we speak he's just a crazy fuckin paranoid freak Chorus we're gonna make Big Brother fall gonna prove he wasn't so big at all won't it be one happy day when we make Big Brother pay for his crimes against humanity and for hasslin you and me? ain't gonna study war no more when we shake Big Brother down to the core Chorus If Big Brother is listening he might hear those bells of freedom ringin If Big Brother wants to know tell him that love and freedom is gonna grow and peace and justice is gonna flow with Big Brother out of the way it's gonna be one sunshiney day. LEver9 RAP OK, first the crazy title - if you look at the vertical lines in the capital letters LE and then the number 9 you get 119 or 911 backwards, also lever 9 sounds close to eleven 9, so this song is all about reverting things that have gone forward such as the roll back on civil liberties and encroachment of societal lunacy for 11 years now since the events of that day in Sept 2011 as well as things that were going on prior that we somehow didn't see. See, 911 did change everything - it started a global awakening to the insanity and corruption in high places in the corporate and government sectors. Thank you very much to John Bush for contributing his rap to the proceedings. Great job John! lyrics: i want to clear the air and ungunk the sea i want to drink clean water no more impurities i want to love the land and live in harmony because this land was made for you and me i want to roam around without showing ID what good is sacred ground under a tyranny? no more frankenfood let's bring Monsanto down let's revoke their patents on the plants and dirt in the ground chorus: i just want a cabin underneath the sun give me the simple life and an old shotgun i just want the right to just be me when you get right to it who else could i be? i don't want no gadgets don't want a plasma tv i don't want my home full of stuff bought from the enemy i want to grow some crops in the fertile soil i don't want to be dependent on anybody's oil maybe a little rum and some vodka too wanna drink a toast to freedom for me and you i wanna have a dream i wanna find my way home i want a country where the seeds of enlightenment are sown chorus: i just want a cabin underneath the rain give me some shelter and love and i won't complain i just want someone to keep me company under
