本国スペインやニューヨークの若手ミュージシャンを中心に紹介しているFresh Sound New Talentから、珍しくフランス人アーティストの登場です。Frederic Boreyは1975年生まれのサックス奏者。リック･マーギッツァやジェリー･バーガンジに師事し、ディディエ･ロックウッドのバンド、ONJ(オーケストラ･ナショナル･ドゥ･ジャズ)、Y'akasax等の人気ユニットを経て2002年からバンド･リーダーとして活躍しています。スタン･ゲッツやウォーン･マーシュをフェイヴァリット･アーティストに挙げているのもうなずける、ソフトなサウンドと余韻タップリのフレージングが印象的です。特に透明感のある高音は絶品。
