Surrendered Sleep

The need for rest, and sleep in particular, is not a new concept. One third of our lives are spent sleeping, or at least attempting to. After my friend Dave Rogers told me about Dr. Charles Page and his book, 'Surrendered Sleep', he suggested that I pray about writing some songs that might be peaceful in nature, lessening anxiety and hopefully aiding in rest-producing sleep. Dr. Page thought music might be a good companion to his very detailed, extremely insightful book. My thought was that simple, positive, 'non-directional' tunes (with very little melodic content in most of them) might relax the mind and emotions, aiding people to relax and transition from the stress of the day to a deep sleep. Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will take these words (from the book) and these songs and do a work far beyond anything we could do. God wants to draw close to you-Spirit, soul, and body-and give you rest.
