Product Description

We set out sometime in 2012, before our second record was officially out, to begin working on this one. And there was just something about this one that seemed bigger than anything we'd done before. Not to disparage the other records. They're all dear to us in their own ways. But something was different about this one. The songs wrote themselves. Anytime we're working on something, it's tough to come up with lyrics, or hooks, and ways to 'finish the sentence', per se. But this one just sort of just flew out. And we really think that's the sign that you're working on something really awesome. Family Robot Seizure Show, studio wise, is just the two of us. Brandon Dooley and Sam Terito. We write little chunks of the music and then sort of email it back to each other and usually once a week, we get together and record the parts live. Then mix them up, put different vst's and effects on things. Record drums, record vocals. Things like that. Our first record, Anacondatron, was part of this evolving process where we were really just figuring out what to do with computers, what kind of songs we were working on, etc. The entire record was recorded above a bar in Baton Rouge. In fact, if you listen to it carefully, you might be able to hear other bands playing in the background from picking up background noise. Or people talking. Little nuances. Little things. But the two records after that one, Pangaea and now this one, Doom Falcon, were recorded at our practice room in the back of an industrial insulation warehouse, before we moved to our official label home's space, the Love Affair Studios in BR. And really, this record encapsulates the time we spent in there. Watching youtube videos. Eating pizza. Drinking beer, and just generally bullshitting about everything you could possibly imagine. This record is really a big slice of everything we'd worked on musically. The two of us have been writing music in various bands together since 1996 or so. This record is a little darker than some of our other stuff, but it just works. We think. Please listen to it, and email us if you like it or if you want to know anything about it. Lyrics. Things like that. Sam can be reached at sam.terito AT gmail.com and Brandon at bcdooley AT gmail.com. Enjoy. And thank you very very much.
