Artifacts

Taking old influences from punk and mixing it with their new tastes for rock and metal, Falling From Fiction has developed a musical style that is able to bridge the gaps between some fairly diverse genres, which makes for an interesting style of music. Taking the catchy melodic progression of punk and mixing it with the drive and aggression of hard rock, FFF has carved out their own sound for all to hear. As FFF's first album, Artifacts actually has a good amount of concept behind it. Members from a former band took remnants of older songs, revamped them, and sprinkled them in throughout the album. The color scheme of the artwork hints at the union of past and present, while the composition conceals a few artifacts of it's own. This album represents closure of the past as well as new beginnings. In the wake of finished business, the band is excited to move next into uncharted territory. Sonically, the album has the voice of concern. Always boasting conflict and nearing resolution, the members describe a place where complacency is never met, but hope can also be found. The darkest of times always exist somewhere, even on the most serene of nights, and the lyrics throughout the album imply that one can progress in any situation.
