Absence Of Everything

Endation is a musical dichotomy: a sensory marriage of beautiful and ugly. Stripped down and raw, heavy with bombastic rhythms, a fusion of complex and simple while also melodic, serene and emotional. There are only two members of Endation, but they create a large wall of sound. Anthony Conley and Matt Graber, who began creating music together more than a decade ago, have worked together to create this soul-baring music of raw intensity. They are sometimes compared with artists such as Fugazi, Shiner, Shudder To Think, Jawbox, Scratch Acid and Nirvana. While these artists are inspiring, Endation has a sound of their own: enigmatic yet somehow familiar. The Absence of Everything is the title of the new album, recorded, mixed and mastered by local mastermind Joel Simches. The album is in large part a sonic sledgehammer, but with moments that are hauntingly tranquil. Each song blends seamlessly into the next to create images of pain and healing, suffering and redemption. It was orchestrated to give the passionate listener a feeling of wholeness and understanding, albeit delivered with concussive abrasiveness.
