ジャズベーシストといえばジャコ・パストリ...

ジャズベーシストといえばジャコ・パストリアスやスタンリー・クラークが好きでたくさんレコードやCDを買ったりステージも観たりしました。 しかし、だんだんと年をとってくると落ち着いた音が好みになり、ECMを愛聴するようになってきました。そんな中でみつけたのが　というベーシスト。ジャコにも負けないくらいのいい音、いいベースラインを弾いています。 このRutumシリーズはECMの主要アーチストのベスト盤みたいなもの。本人の作品のみならず、参加した他ミュージシャンの作品からも選曲されています。パット・メセニーの作品にも参加していたとは知りませんでした。 プログレにも通じるサウンドの曲もあります。 Eberhard Weber の作品としてはSilent Feet (Colours)、Stages Of A Long Journey もいいです。 バール・フィリップスというベーシストもいいらしいですが作品を聴いたことがありません。ぜひこの人の作品の再発も期待したいです。
