Product Description

For nearly a decade, Doug Shimmin has composed, recorded and performed with Immigrant Suns, a Detroit-based band rooted in the ancient music of many cultures. Shimmin began performing with kanun player Ara Topouzian several years ago, lending his expertise in the realm of Armenian/Middle Eastern music. In 1999, Shimmin began experimenting with new electronic sounds, ultimately completing the work known as Zamperla. This recording features Ara Topouzian on kanun and clarinet.
