Diamond Watch Wrists is one of those special musical moments when artists serendipitously collide and combine their efforts to produce something inspired and unprovoked. Guillermo Scott Heron, a.k.a. Prefuse 73, crossed paths with Zach Hill, the drummer of Hella, and the two ended up collaborating on what would become ICE CAPPED AT BOTH ENDS. Psychedelic and personal, free and driven, complex and accessible, these songs are soaked in multi-leveled vocal harmonies atop atmospheric production and forward-moving drums. The Diamond Watch Wrists is the product of two great musicians taking full advantage of circumstance and forging a new sound.

'09年発表｡これはｽｺｯﾄ･ﾍﾚﾝとﾍﾗ他のｻﾞｯｸ･ﾋﾙとのﾃﾞｭｵ･ﾕﾆｯﾄだ｡ｽｺｯﾄがｷﾞﾀｰ､ﾍﾞｰｽ､ﾍﾟﾀﾞﾙｽﾃｨｰﾙ､ｸﾗﾘﾈｯﾄ等々の楽器をすべて自分で弾いており､全曲でﾎﾞｰｶﾙも取っている｡ｻﾞｯｸはﾄﾞﾗﾑｽのみ｡1曲だけだがﾊﾞﾄﾙｽのﾀｲﾖﾝﾀﾞｲ･ﾌﾞﾗｸｽﾄﾝがﾎﾞｰｶﾙで参加している｡ｻｳﾞｧｽのｾｶﾝﾄﾞを思い出させるｵｰｶﾞﾆｯｸなｻｳﾝﾄﾞで､流麗なﾒﾛﾃﾞｨ･ﾗｲﾝに載せたｽｺｯﾄの素朴な歌声と､ｻﾞｯｸの叩き出すｼｬｰﾌﾟなﾘｽﾞﾑとのｺﾝﾄﾗｽﾄが絶妙な効果を上げている｡この顔合わせを知った時にはもっとﾛｯｸ的な仕上がりになるのかと思ったのだが､聴いてみると実にまろやかで落ち着いた作品となっている｡実質的にはｽｺｯﾄのｿﾛにｻﾞｯｸがﾄﾞﾗﾏｰとして入っているという感じだが､こちらも継続的に活動してゆくのだろうか?
