Diamond Hitch

Diamond Hitch mixes classic country and country rock to form their unique sound. Made up of cowboys and country boys, the band has been living and working the blue collar life by day and as honky-tonk heroes by night. Derrick and Travis Kuppens come from Mammoth Lakes, CA and have always enjoyed playing music. Playing in bands and church throughout high school, the twins learned what it was to be on stage and how to do it, but it wasn't until college that they began songwriting and found their love for country. Though, they wouldn't get the Diamond Hitch sound they wanted until Rex Hayes joined the band. Rex was raised in Minnesota on his family's ranch. Growing up in the country, he learned to ride rodeo and that ride eventually led him to San Luis Obispo, California, where he met Travis and Derrick and found his natural talent for the bass guitar. Diamond Hitch was formed. They played bars, clubs, and fairs throughout California, performing country hits and their original music. Still, Diamond Hitch wanted more, so they packed up everything and moved to Nashville, TN. This is where Diamond Hitch added a whole new side to it's sound and songs with the addition of Preston Taylor and Jacob Boyd. Preston hails from Tomball, Texas, where he played in an alternative rock band, sang in choirs, and played guitar. After moving to Nashville, he put an ad on Craigslist and Diamond Hitch found him. He fit perfectly! Diamond Hitch was getting even closer to the sound it was looking for, but something was still missing. This is where Jacob Boyd comes in. Hailing from Brenham, Texas, he grew up playing guitar and writing songs. He played with a few country bands, but moved to Nashville to find more opportunity with country music. One night, the band saw Jacob playing a songwriter showcase and knew he was the last piece of the puzzle! Once Jacob joined the band, Diamond Hitch, as we know it now, was born! Now, Diamond Hitch is working hard to bring their music to their fans! Always striving to write great songs and play great shows, the band has played all over Nashville and the surrounding area and has their self-titled album available for everyone to enjoy their music whenever their fans want.
