As a former Monkee and veteran entertainer, Jones has worked with the 'who's who' of the music world. His concerts are famously fun-filled and musically tight and energetic, employing some of the best musicians to ever go on the road. This live album (recorded 2003 at the Mohegan Sun) captures one of his best tours. The set showcases a great band (complete with horn section and vocals galore) and a solid set list--from a full brace of Monkees' hits (Little Bit Me Little Bit You, Valleri, Steppin' Stone, Daydream Believer, I'm A Believer) to I'll Love You Forever (a Jones original beloved by fans) to comedy routines to a surprising range of styles: Country (Freddy Fender), Jazz (Louis Jordan), and British R'n'B (Van Morrison's Bright Side of the Road). All told, Davy Jones LIVE!!! is a satisfying representation of his brilliant live concerts. Jones (vocals, guitar, percussion) is backed by Sam Albright on tenor saxophone, David 'Loafy' Alexander (guitar, keyboards, music director, vocals), Eric 'Beyondo' Biondo on trumpet/vocals, Gregory Briggler on trombone, bassist/vocalist Mark Clarke (Ian Hunter, Billy Squier, Uriah Heep), drummer Sandy Gennaro (Bo Diddley, Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper), Aviva Maloney on keyboards/reeds/vocals, and guitarist/vocalist David Robicheau.
