1982年パリに生まれニューヨークへ移り活躍するピアニストDan Tepfer。2006 Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competitionや、2006 East Coast Jazz Festival Competition、2007 competition of the American Pianists Associationnなどの受賞歴も誇り、 Lee Konitzとも共演、2009年にはデュオ作品『Duos With Lee』もリリースしています。自身のアルバムもこれまで『Before the Storm』(2005年)、『OXYGEN』(2007年)という2枚のピアノ・トリオ作、前作であるソロ・ピアノ作『Twelve Free Improvisations in Twelve Keys』をリリースしていますが、1年ぶりとなるこのアルバムでは、サニーサイドからメンバーを一新したトリオ・フォーマットでの発表となります。Jacques Brelの "Le Plat Pays"やスタンダード"Body and Soul"を始め、クラシックの素養を随所に見せる、現代感覚溢れる瑞々しいサウンドを聴かせてくれます。
