名曲・名演が目白押しです。 私は活発なレコーディングを行ってきた1970年代中ば頃からのガーディナーファンです。 当時ガーディナーの新譜は出るたびに話題となっていましたが、組物が 多く高価でなかなか購入できないものがたくさんありました。 こうしてさまざまな名曲・名演がまとめられて買いやすい値段でBOXとして出された事をとても嬉しく思います。 とりわけ、モンテヴェルディ/聖母マリアの夕べの祈り、バッハ/マタイ受難曲、ベートーヴェン/ミサソレムニス、モーツァルト/イドメネオ、などは歴代の名盤と比べても全く遜色のない名演です。 更にロマン派の曲ではガーディナーならではの名解釈で、とても個性豊かな名演奏になっています。 録音も万全の仕上がりで多くのクラシック音楽ファンに聴いてもらいたい素晴らしいセットです。
