さすがはカヴァー好きなアレサといったところか、10曲中8曲がカヴァーという大胆なアルバムだ（70年発表）。ジャケット通り、ピアノを弾きながら歌うという、シンプルながらもアレサの生身の歌声が直に伝わってくる内容となっている。 ボビー･ブランドのカヴァー"Share Your Love With Me"、ザ・バンドの"The Weight"がオススメかな。ビートルズのカヴァーは賛否両論分かれるかも知れないが、アレサの類稀な才能を改めて感じる重要な位置を占める曲だ。

1970年リリース。仲間内では「涙のアルバム」と呼びます”CALL ME”はARETHA自身が泣いてますって。もう１曲”DARK END OF THE STREET”でやられました。私のアルバムNO.２です。ビートルズ・ナンバーのアレンジも原曲なし崩しでグッドです。この時代がARETHAの充実期だと思います。
