裏千家茶道の教本である。中置は十月に行われる手前であり、風炉が中央に据えられる。十月は気温が下がり詫びた風情が日に日に深まる季節である。そのような季節に寄り添う中置の点前は、詫びた道具がよく似合う。日本人の季節に対する繊細さをより一層感じることができるのではないだろうか。
