メンバーが不惑を迎えたにも関わらず、全アルバムの中でも重量感に満ちた一枚を引っさげて来た事に少々驚いた。ダウンチューニングの曲が少ないのが彼等らしくないが、その分キツい音圧でカバーしている。鈴木氏の手による「雷神」は近年ではダントツの一曲ではないだろうか。この曲だけで完全に持ってかれた感じだ。中盤でダレるが、最期の暗〜い二曲でカッコよく締め括っている。名盤。

個人的には決してバランスの良いアルバムだとは思わない。他にも色々不満点もある一枚なのだが、「雷神」「品川心中」「ロックンロール特急」「幻色の孤島」など目玉になるキラーチューンが多く、それらの不満点も霞んでしまう勢いに圧倒される。 一音半下げのナンバーが少ない為彼ららしからぬ印象が無いでもないが、不惑にしてこのパワフルな演奏は天晴。 「孤立無援〜」は和嶋氏が歌った方が良かっただろう。
