音ははちきれんばかりに優れており、演奏も充実感がみなぎっている。これがステレオならなどと思わないぐらいに何もかも充実している。シュナイダーハンのヴァイオリンの音の充実度はいかばかりか、この演奏に比べれば再録のヨッフムとの演奏など実に平凡である。やはりフルトヴェングラーの存在が圧倒的に大きいと言わざるを得ない。再発のeloquenceは艶と丸みがありいい音だが、やや大人しく感じる。このPOCG2351は迫力、いい意味での荒さに於いて勝っている。
