何とこのCD発売時点で存命中のヘンデル女史の、９５年録音のバッハで「下手うま」と評価される前のしっかりとした技巧の演奏が堪能できる。といっても、テクニックや美音で圧倒する演奏ではなく、真摯に音楽と向かい合ってきた人生の年輪の積み重ねを味合わせてくれる滋味深い演奏である。特に、音楽と対話しているようなカデンツァは心に染み入ってくる。おまけの小品が、演奏する悦びに溢れており感銘を受けたので、思わず買いそびれていたソロアルバムを注文してしまった。さすがに、もう来日公演とかは無理だろうが、生で聴いておきたかった。
