ワーグナーのこの手の管弦楽曲集というと指揮者、オーケストラの腕の見せ所といった感じで壮大なものが多いですが、このデ・ワールトの演奏は力みのない、それでいて充実した響きを醸し出したものと言えます。序曲、前奏曲の後にそのまま劇に入っていくような感じで決して大げさな演出もありません。録音も良く、いぶし銀の音色で特にティンパニーの張りのある音は昔のドレスデン国立管弦楽団を思い出します。サラウンドもあり心地良いサウンドでワーグナーを堪能できます。
