オーマンディらしいおおらかな運びの中で，オケの名人芸が存分に堪能できる。特に，3楽章の旋律を，弦パートがあたかもひとつの楽器のように厚みのある響きで朗々と歌うのを聞いていると，当時のフィラ管はほんとうにすばらしかったとため息がでてしまう。

今聴きながらレビューを書いてますが、素晴らしい盤ですね。さすがオーマンディーの十八番とあって、流れが実にスムーズだ。オリジナルジャケットの「美女」を思わせる女性的な演奏です。ゲルギエニフの女性は私には少し激情過ぎる。フィラデルフィアの巧さはここでも特出している。カラヤンと双璧だな。
