ある意味では、きわめて「ヨーロッパ的」な、穏健で趣味の高い演奏である。ヨーロッパの小ぢんまりとした瀟洒なホールで静かに耳を傾ける人びとの間で、彼らと空間と時間を共有しているかの幻影に陥ることのできる録音である。

全体として悪くはないのですが．．．。プレヴィン、鄭京和、トルトゥリエのしなやか、かつ、圧倒的な演奏（ＥＭＩ）が頭から離れず。これと比較したら少々気の毒かも。若い演奏家たちにはもう少し切れの良い演奏を期待したのですが（切れの悪さは私の再生装置のせいかな？）。私のお気に入りの、メリニコフ、ファウスト、ケラスの「ドゥムキー」（仏ハルモニア・ムンディ）程の音質であれば良かったなと思います。

予想通り、というか、1番も2番も期待以上の素晴らしい演奏だ。アンニュイな沈静とヴィヴィッドな飛翔が交錯する若き日のバルソルディの典型的曲想を見事に表現している。速いテンポと遅いテンポの出し入れ、アチェレランドとリタルダンドの繰り返し、また緩徐楽章の内省的かつ理知的なリリースなどなど、活気漲る生き生きとした解釈であり一気に全楽章を聴かされてしまうという魅力ある演奏となっている。
