    題名のとおり、各時代の世界の代表的な名画がまんべんなく掲載されていて、絵画の歴史を学べるようになっています。絵画ごとに、見開きで写真と説明が掲載するという体裁で、絵画の写真が大きい点が特徴です。漢字には読み仮名がふってあるので、年長の息子が、ペラペラめくって気に入る絵画を見つけては その解説を読んでいます。 取り上げられている絵画は約40と多くなく、その画家の他の作品の紹介は文章のみなので、子どもが絵画に興味をもつとっかかりを求めている方に良い選択肢になると思います。
