ザ・シックスティーンが、母国イギリスのバロック時代を代表する巨匠ヘンリー・パーセルの『インドの女王』をレコーディング！
ドライデンとハワードの合作の台本による『インドの女王』は、1695年のヘンリー・パーセルの逝去によって未完となってしまったものの、弟のダニエル・パーセル[1664-1717]が最後のマスクを補筆。パーセルならではのトランペットやオーボエ、リコーダーの活躍も特徴的な最晩年の傑作です。
ジュリー・クーパーやマーク・ドーベル、イーモン・ドゥーガンなどザ・シックスティーンが誇る歌手陣、ナチュラル・トランペットの名手ロバート・ファーリーやバロック・オーボエの達人アンソニー・ロブソンが名を連ねるオーケストラが繰り広げるパーセルの『インドの女王』。ザ・シックスティーンによるイギリス・バロックの大作にご期待下さい。（東京エムプラス）
