こんな所に内声が、えっ、マジっ。楽譜には…、音はあるけどそうやって鳴らせなんて書いてねーし、赤入れしとこ。で、５５年のやつは…、やっぱ鳴ってたんだー。ゼンフくんのおかげで、グールドくんの歌を消してくれた分、セバスチャンくんからの内声がよくきこえるようになったってか。つーか、グールドくんが鳴らしておいてくれてたんだ。この頭でまた５５年のやつ…、グールドくんの歌もあいまって、またかくべつですのぉー

１９５５年の録音の再創造とのことであるが、バッハ演奏の歴史的な転換点になった衝撃的な名演に対する、このような試み自体には反対するものではない。しかしながら、こうした試みは、音楽学者にとっては画期的なものであっても、芸術的な感動とは別物のように考えている。グールドは、かなり早い段階から、聴衆の入るコンサートを拒否し、ひたすらスタジオでのレコーディングを中心として活動してきた。したがって、グールドにとっては、スタジオ録音そのものが、自らの芸術を世に問う唯一の機会であった。スタジオ録音の際には、グールドは鼻歌をうたったり、ハミングしたりするし、時には椅子が軋む音すらそのままに収録しているが、こうした所為のすべてが、グールドにとっては、自らの芸術の一大要素であったのである。ところが、本ＣＤには、ピアノ以外の音はすべて消去（抹殺との表現を敢えて使いたい）されており、ただただコンピュータじかけとも言うべき音が紡ぎだされていく。聴きようによっては、ここには血も涙もない機械音だけが流れるという、実に寒々とした音響が創造されているのだ。要するに、音響であって音楽ではないのだ。たとえ、マルチチャンネル付きのＳＡＣＤによる高音質録音であっても、私としては、そのような音響は願い下げである。前述のように、このような試み自体には必ずしも反対ではないので、一定の評価はするが、音楽芸術としての感動からは程遠いと言わざるを得ず、その意味では、★は２つの評価が精一杯と言ったところであろう。

ポータブルラジオから流れる音でも人を感動...

ポータブルラジオから流れる音でも人を感動させることができる。音楽を聴きたいという要求はどこからくるのか、音楽から何を人は求めるのか。なんとかしてあの名曲を最高の音質で再現したいという熱意は判る。しかしながら再創造という言葉がジョークに聞こえるのは私だけだろうか、むしろグールドの再認識とした方が適当かと思う。
