Celebrated as a child prodigy on the piano at the age of 11, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski decided at an early stage to rather concentrate on composition and conducting. An injury of the hands during the war made this decision irreversible, and so his musical talent was dedicated solely to his creative work. After conduction numerous renowned orchestras he now prefers to work as a guest conductor only, in order to protect his artistic liberty and remain indepedent of the dictates of the market. ( OHEMS )
