ギョーム・ド・マショーに始まる7世紀に渡る「クラシック」音楽と、それらをジェルジ・クルタークがオマージュ、あるいは追憶、さらには形式の借用として作曲した作品を併置することで、それぞれの作曲家の根幹に流れる嗜好、あるいは嗜好、あるいは志向のようなものを「亡霊」のごとく浮かび上がらせる。まずは、クルタークの音楽の素晴らしさに、それにも増してピアニストのマリーノ・フォルメンティのコンセプトとプログラミングに脱帽。短いものでは9秒（3曲ある）、長いものでも5分半と、超小曲ぞろいだが、短さゆえにコンセプトが際立つ。クルタークの作品以外に登場する作曲家は、以下のとおり。 J.S.バッハ（1曲）ベラ・バルトーク（3曲）ルートヴィヒ・ヴァン・ベートーヴェン（1曲、9秒！）ピエール・ブーレーズ（2曲）フレデリック・ショパン（1曲）ヨーゼフ・ハイドン（1曲）レオシュ・ヤナーチェク（1曲）ジェルジ・リゲティ（2曲）フランツ・リスト（2曲）ギョーム・ド・マショー（2曲）オリヴィエ・メシアン（1曲）モデスト・ムソルグスキー（2曲）ヘンリー・パーセル（1曲）ドメニコ・スカルラッティ（2曲）フランツ・シューベルト（2曲）ロベルト・シューマン（6曲）カールハインツ・シュトックハウゼン（1曲）
