何といってもアラニスのデビュー作ですね。デビュー作で売れたアーティストは2枚目以降落ち目になるのがジンクスですが、アラニスもそれに近いかも知れません。落ち目とまでは至っていないと思いますが、やはり1枚目の本作が最高傑作と思います。一曲目からガツンと入って、”You Learn” ”Ironic” ”Wake Up” Bonus Trackまで、良い感じに仕上がっています。是非聴いてみて下さい。

このアルバム聴くと、彼女が後続アーティストにいかに多大な与えた影響を与えたかよくわかる。日本の女性シンガーソングライターなんかほとんどみんな何らかの影響受けたんじゃないかってくらいに。。。このひねくれよじれたセンス、ちょっと下世話な感じがいい。そして何より力が漲り溢れてる。彼女は多くの女性に力と勇気を与えた。
