The kings of melodic metal return with their strongest set to date. ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder’ is Incubus’ sixth album and marks a huge leap in the maturity of songwriting on what will probably be one of the hard rock albums of the year.

The addition of Roots’ bass player Ben Kenney is certainly a bonus. His playing throughout is exceptional and gives the band’s music a whole new slant. Elsewhere the old boys play like their lives depend on it. The tracks here are reminiscent of those on ‘S.C.I.E.N.C.E’, tight and loud, but with a few extra thrills and the guitar playing is pure magic on tracks like ‘Beware! Criminal’ and ‘Agoraphobia’. Meanwhile Brandon Boyd produces an amazing vocal display ranging from his usual nasal croon to the pyrotechnics of Jeff Buckley.

Incubus have come up trumps again. ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder’ is innovative and exciting and leaves the rest of the nu-metal crowd wondering just how they did it.

各曲の所々で演奏能力の高い各楽器が絡み合う。また⑧のような歌モノでは、良質なメロディメイカーぶりも聴かせる。充実の一枚。

'04年発表｡ﾐｸｽﾁｬｰ系を脱して､ﾚｯﾁﾘ風に歌で勝負するﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞになるんだろうと思いきや､ﾒﾝﾊﾞｰ5人が火花を散らすｼﾞｬﾑ･ｾｯｼｮﾝを､そのままﾊﾟｯｹｰｼﾞすることで､彼らはﾛｯｸ本来の衝動を取り戻した｡中盤のﾌﾘｰｷｰな展開がｽﾘﾘﾝｸﾞ｡ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞの好調ぶりがｽﾄﾚｰﾄに表れた5thｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ｡
