TVﾄﾞｷｭﾒﾝﾀﾘｰの評判は素晴らしかったようだが本盤は単なるｻﾝﾄﾗ以上のものではない｡選曲はありきたりで演奏も秀でたところがない｡ﾌﾞﾗｽﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞによるものは古いｽﾀｲﾙの版を採用しているようだが､その他の曲は現代のｱﾚﾝｼﾞといった調子で統一性もない｡ﾗｲﾅｰも特に詳しくはない｡この番組のｽﾋﾟﾝｱｳﾄとして同じくｹﾝ･ﾊﾞｰﾝｽﾞ監督の音楽ﾄﾞｷｭﾒﾝﾀﾘｰも制作されたようで､そのｻﾝﾄﾗ”Songs Of The Civil War”(Columbia 48607)も出ているので､音楽鑑賞に重きを置くならそちらの方がお薦め｡尚､M18のﾀｲﾄﾙはWeeping〜となっているが､その曲はここには入っていない｡間違いです｡
