オリジナル１９７７アナログ・マスターのＣＤ化！「Flambay」、「Spider of Destiny」、「Time Is Money」からタナ・ハリスのボーカルが消えた。当然ながらザッパのギター、ルースのマリンバ・パーカッションがとても良く聴こえる。しかし、「The Ocean Is The Ultimate Solution」は若干音の分離が悪い。この曲は、既発ＣＤの迫力が凄まじい！「９３年ザッパ・マスター」、ザッパがもしかしたら病魔と闘いながら最後までプロ中のプロとしてこだわったリマスター作業に、あらためて頭が下がる思いだ。この「Sleep Dirt」、２つのバージョンで楽しみたい。

ザッパインストの最高峰。どの曲も恐るべき完成度を誇る。CD盤ではかなりのオーバーダブが加えられており、旧アナログ盤とかなり印象の異なる曲がある（『ザッパ　イン　NY』や『レザー』でも同様の処置が行われている）。作曲者本人としては最新版こそベスト、ということなのだろうが、旧バージョンに長らく親しんできたファンとしては、旧バージョンも何らかの形で再発して欲しいもの。
