    リュート音楽の巨匠シルヴィウス・レオポルド・ヴァイスのとの出会いは２０年以上前、佐藤豊彦のCDを聴いたことが始まりだった。素晴らしい曲と演奏に感激して、もっとヴァイスが聴きたいとディスクを探し始めた。今でもそうですけど、当時はディスクが少ないうえに、せっかく購入してもどうも気に入らない演奏が多かった。そうなると次は、もうその演奏者は買いたくないと言う気持ちになる。佐藤豊彦もモレーノもなぜヴァイスをライフワークとしてもっと取り上げてくれないのだろうと思ったりもしました。その点このロバート・バートはとてもいいです。最新のディスクから購入しましたが、順次追加して全部揃えるつもりです。そして廉価盤なのがうれしいですね。いままではほとんどレギュラー価格で買っていましたから。

    　これは本当に素晴らしいディスクだ。まず曲が圧倒的にいい。そしてモレーノの演奏が群を抜いて秀逸だ。わたしは十数年前にたまたまこのCDを購入したのだが、それ以来このディスクはわたしの宝となった。一曲目のシャコンヌから始まり最後のシャコナに至るまで、２１のトラックナンバーすべてが心を打つ。とくにソナタK５のパッサカリアは何度涙をながしたことか。オリジナル版はロココ時代のフランス画家ブーシェの裸婦像が表紙で、モレーノ夫婦の笑顔のツーショット写真がある。ぜひ一人でも多くの人に聴いてもらいたいCDだ。ヴァイスの素晴らしさ、リュート音楽の美しさを共有できればと思う。
