The event took place at Avalone Theatre in Hollywood, L.A. on September 12th 2004 for Johnny Ramone who was still bed-ridden trying to fight off his illness, and also to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band Ramones. It attracted an amazing list of guest artists that's too good to be true, and they made this live show legendary!

The emcee was Rob Zombie, and he led powerhouse rock stars like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tim Armstrong of Rancid, Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion covering the Ramones classics, playing with all their goodwill for Johnny to recover.

Also some precious images of C.J.Ramone and Marky Ramone playing as the "new" Ramones are here. Everyone was in it to dedicate the whole night to Johnny. The DVD also presents the real episodes of the Ramones through interviews with those close to the band. The limited Japanese edition also contains an interview with Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante of RHCP, which is NOT available on the original US version!

The Ramones ignited the punk movement in the 70's and, though failing to make any decent commercial success, they managed to keep their own original, trademark style throughout the 30 years of their history.
The special event recorded on the DVD took place immediately before the release of the band's biographic film "End Of The Century" and sadly the tragic news of Johnny Ramone came only three days later.

Even after the band split up and all the original members vanished from this world, the Ramones remain close to the hearts of many fans round the world, and even keeps generating more and more followers. And the DVD clearly describes why that is the case with this band. "Too Tough To Die: A Tribute To Johnny Ramone" is a must-see for everyone, whether you like the band or not!!!
