'Room On Fire' is the sophomore long player from the hottest band in the world, New York five-piece The Strokes. Powered by overridden vocals, smart guitar riffs and infuriatingly catchy songs, the album, like its predecessor (2001's multi-platinum/award-winning debut 'Is This It?'), was produced by Gordon Raphael and recorded at TMF Studios on East 12th Street in New York during the summer. Another stunning mix of raw, world-weary vocals, spiky guitars, and insistently chugging backbeats, standout tracks include the angular 'Reptilia', the poppy 'What Ever Happened?' ("I wanna be forgotten, and I don't wanna be reminded") and the swaggering, street-smart 'Between Love And Hate' ("I never needed anybody"). Includes the single '12:51'.

リアルタイムの愛聴盤！当時も今も変わらぬ、新鮮さとかっこ良さを提供してくれている。Reptilia、12：51、The End Has No End等々、口ずさめるグッドメロディも多くて良い！

｢IS THIS IT｣ほどののインパクトはないけれど聴けば聴くほどハマってしまうこの感じはやはりこのアルバム全体の曲の良さ、バランスが最高なんでしょう!

ファーストに比べて音が逞しくなった印象深を受けました。あとバランスが変です。レゲエっぽいリズムなのにベースが高音出してたりとか。実は結構造りが凝ってます。この部分が次で爆発しちゃったんですかね。久々に聴いたらThe End Has No Endがなんか良かったです。
