1970年発表の名盤『原子心母』。プログレッシヴ・ロックの代表的作品としても知られる。逆にプログレにさほど興味ない人は、”聴ける”のか？という問いにはロック・ファンであるなら、いやテクノに興味ある若いリスナーにも十分通用するサウンドだと答えたい。意味ありげで象徴的なタイトル、ジャケの付け方は今のテクノなんかと同じだし、音的にも小難しくなく非常に感覚的だ（リバプール８０’ｓシーン出身のビル・ドラモンドが率いたＫＬＦの’９０年辺りに出たアンビエント名作はジャケも含めて本作へのオマージュに思えた）。オーセンティックなロック・ファンならロジャー・ウォータースの弾き語りなどに見られるリリカルな味にはグッとくるはず。アナログ時代のＡ面全てを使って表現された組曲は２５分あるが、それさえ少しも冗長な感じがしないので是非お試しを…。
