The 2004 reissue of Peter Gabriel's Secret World Live -- originally recorded in Modena, Italy, in 1994 on Gabriel's European tour -- has been seriously enhanced for this release. Not only has the image been digitally remastered for a level of clarity and sharpness that eluded earlier presentations, but the audio has been remastered in digital stereo and now also offers DTS and Dolby 5.1 playback, and a short documentary on the making of the original program was done. The whole concert is amazing to watch, Gabriel going through myriad moves and shadings of his stage persona in a repertoire that cuts across his entire solo career and culminates with an ebullient performance of Solsbury Hill. The image has been enhanced for 16x9 presentation on widescreen monitors, and otherwise is presented in about a 1.85-to-1 aspect ratio. Among the bonus features on this new disc are a time-lapse film of one stage setup from the tour that's pretty entertaining; a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the film of this tour; a Quiet Steam Photo Gallery keyed to a remixed version of Steam; and a film teaser promoting Gabriel's subsequent 2002-2003 tour. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
