本作リリースの前年に衝撃のデビューを飾っていたジミ・ヘンドリックスとエクスペリエンス。1967年発表の本作は時代の流れからトータル・アルバム的な作風となった。左右に飛び交うフィードバック・ノイズに導かれて作品は始まる。M2はシャッフル／ブギ系のリズムを持った粋なナンバー。ジミのワウワウ・ギターが心地好い。M3はダイナミックなリフが気持ち良く、豪快なジミ節炸裂。前作の曲もそうだけどストーン・ローゼズのレニのドラムが好きな若いリスナーにはこの曲のグルーヴもアピールするだろう。M6は今のバンドに例えるとレッチリ系の哀愁とグルーヴを持った曲。必聴！　M7はトッド・ラングレンもカヴァーしてたサイケっぽい曲。アルバム全体としての纏まりも良く、この後の怒涛の展開への序章といった趣。
