From director Frangois Girard (THE RED VIOLIN), THIRTY TWO SHORT FILMS ABOUT GLENN GOULD is the award-winning 1993 film about the piano prodigy Glenn Gould played by Colm Feore (THE BORGIAS, 24, THOR). The music consists almost entirely of piano recordings by Gould and includes pieces famously linked with him, such as Bach's THE GOLDBERG VARIATIONS, and the WELL-TEMPERED CLAVIER. The film is not a single narrative, but rather a series of thirty-two short films that include documentaries (five interviews with people who knew him) and recreations of scenes from Gould's life. Segments range in length from six minutes to less than one minute. The form was inspired by THE GOLDBERG VARIATIONS, which was Gould's first acclaimed recording.
