アメリカのアルティシモ・レコードは軍楽隊...

アメリカのアルティシモ・レコードは軍楽隊関係の音源は多数出しているがこれもそれ。 Not.Sousa、つまりスーザ以外の作曲家の行進曲を集めた内容となっている。 今のところシリーズの最も新しいCDで、第１巻と第２巻はアメリカ海兵隊軍楽隊のみの演奏であったが第３巻よりその他の軍楽隊も登場するようになった。 このCDにもアメリカ海兵隊軍楽隊の他、アメリカ沿岸警備隊軍楽隊、アメリカ空軍軍楽隊、アメリカ陸軍軍楽隊、アメリカ海軍軍楽隊、ナショナル・コンサート・バンド・アメリカ、アメリカ海軍士官学校軍楽隊、アメリカ空軍ヘリテージ・オブ・アメリカ軍楽隊、アメリカ陸軍士官学校軍楽隊、アメリカ空軍ロッキー山脈方面軍楽隊、アメリカ空軍欧州軍楽隊が登場している。 また前巻とおなじく指揮者の記載はない。 またこれも前巻と同じだが、様々な音源から集められた編集盤である。 但し、このCDはアルティシモ・レコード原盤の音源の他、ロバート・ホー財団保有のヘリテージ・オブ・マーチシリーズの音源も収録されており、そのためかかなりマニアックな曲もある。 本場の響きを意識したり、かと思えばアメリカン一色だったりと演奏は一概に言えないが、どれもアメリカのバンドらしい響きの演奏であり悪くはないでしょう。 但し、録音年代がバラバラなためか音質は少々バラつきがある。
