I’m Awake～のようなシンプルなバンドサウンドを期待していただけに、初めて聴いたときは正直期待外れだという印象を受けました。でも、時間が経ってこれもアリかなと受け入れられるようになってからは、徐々にこのアルバムの凄さがわかるようになってきました。今では過去の作品に劣らず自分にとっては重要な作品になっています。おススメはたくさんありますが、強いて挙げれば⑤かな。ワルツ調のビートがシンプルだけど巧くマッチした曲です。 ところでBright Eyesはまだ続けてくれるのかな？それが心配です。

新譜が届いたので早速聴いています。まだ最初の数曲を聴いた印象ですが、かなりポップですね。2005年の I'm Wide Awake ～ に衝撃を受けてから聴いています。ベーシックな部分ではまさにコナー節ですが、サウンドアレンジがかなり凝った作りになっていて、キーボードとドラムパターンも冒険しています。エコーの感じは何となくダニエル･ラノアを連想してしまいます。間違いなく今までで一番ポップなアルバムでしょう。アメリカではすでにメジャーな存在のようですが、それでも絶対にメインストリームにはならないインディーズ臭プンプンの感じがいいですね。でも本当にこれが BRIGHT EYES の最後のアルバムになってしまうのでしょうか？
