At long last, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, President & CEO of Def Jam Recordings, philanthropist and entrepreneur, officially returns to the rap game with his first solo LP in 3 years.

The album title is a nod to the 1996 DC Comics miniseries about Superman returning from retirement to save the world. Set some 20 years into the future of the current DC Universe, it deals with a growing conflict between "traditional" Superheroes (such as Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League) and a growing population of largely amoral and dangerously irresponsible new vigilantes. The book draws heavily on biblical apocalyptic imagery, especially that of the Book of Revelation.

昔のｱﾙﾊﾞﾑはあんま知らないけど、『Blueprint』以降のｱﾙﾊﾞﾑは欠かさずに買ってます。今回はKanyeﾌﾟﾛﾃﾞｭｰｽの曲が「Do U Wanna Ride」1曲しかなかったけど、John Legendが参加しててかなりいい！Chrisette Micheleの「Lost One」といい、Beyonceの「Hollywood」といいｹﾞｽﾄ･ｼﾝｶﾞｰがいい味だしてる！期待してたUsherの「Anything」はもうひとつだったが、全体的にﾗｯﾊﾟｰを起用せず、ｼﾝｶﾞｰだけ招いたのが嬉しい！ただ、噂されていたTimbalandﾌﾟﾛﾃﾞｭｰｽ曲やMary J参加の曲が未収録だったのが残念。でも、早くも次のｱﾙﾊﾞﾑが待ち遠しいね！
