白人であり、さらにアルビノというハンデもものともせず、ジョニーのギターにはパワーが漲っている。生半可はブルースマンでは到底、太刀打ちできないだろう。まもなく還暦を迎えようとしてはいるが、現在も現役バリバリにブルースし続けている白人ギタリストの最高峰である。
