奇跡のロック・フェス「Desert Trip」、第1週目終了

ザ・ローリング・ストーンズや、ポール・マッカートニー、ボブ・ディランと錚々たるメンツが出演することで、ロック・ファンの間で大きな話題になっている米フェスティバル、Desert Tripが10月7日(金)からカリフォルニア州のインディオにあるエンパイア・ポロ・クラブでスタートした。

第1週目の初日に出演したザ・ローリング・ストーンズが、オープニング・ナンバーでパフォーマンスした 「Start Me Up」のダイジェスト映像を公式YouTubeチャンネルにアップ。 またボブ・ディランとストーンズの当日のセットリストも明らかになっており、ストーンズは12月に発表する新作『Blue & Lonesome』にも収録されているジミー・リードの「Ride 'Em On Down」やビートルズの「Come Together」のカバーも披露している。

2日目は、ポール・マッカートニーとニール・ヤングが登場。ポールのステージにニールが飛び入り、「Give Peace A Chance」等を一緒に演奏するサプライズもあり会場は大いに盛り上がったようだ。3日目にはロジャー・ウォーターズ、ザ・フーが出演。ロジャー・ウォーターズはピンク・フロイドお馴染みのブタの風船に大統領候補のトランプ批判を映し出す等の演出があったようだ。

来週も同じラインナップでのステージが予定されているが、第1週と違ったセットリストとなるのかも注目だ。
