Product Description

Steven Spielberg's powerful and personal tale of Oscar Schindler is a moving and deeply effecting film, which helped to bring to light one of the most moving and remarkable tales of WW2. Schindler, marvellously played by Liam Neeson, is a German businessman who sees the potential of using cheap Jewish labour to work in his factories. Initially he is ambivalent to the fate of the Jewish people and is purely motivated by money, but as time passes he sees the barbaric way the German's treat them and the hideous fate that awaits them at the concentration camps. He begins to do everything in his power to protect the 1100 Jews working for him, seeing his factories as a way of keeping them alive. As the war progresses Schindler finds himself having to go to more and more elaborate and dangerous methods to protect his list of workers.

Content Description

第二次世界大戦が勃発した'39年。ナチス・ドイツ軍が侵攻したポーランドのクラクフにやって来たドイツ人実業家のオスカー・シンドラーは、ユダヤ人の所有していた工場の払い下げを受け、ユダヤ人たちをただで使って事業を軌道に乗せる。やがてユダヤ人たちは強制収容所に送られ始め、ナチの親衛隊員が彼らを虐殺するのを目撃したシンドラーは私設収容所を設け、アウシュヴィッツなどの死のキャンプに送られるユダヤ人たちを救おうと、労働力としてユダヤ人労働者を要求し、1200人をリストアップするが・・・。

確かに、名作だろが、私は疑問視します。モノクロ映像に時々入る色の付け方のわざとらしさ、所々に見られるスピルバーグ監督の遊びが、作品の息抜きにならず、悪趣味に映る。ドラマチックに楽しむことが出来るように抑えた表現していることは、評価している。

シンドラーのユダヤ人を安い労働力とみなす商売人根性と無辜の人々を虫けらのように虐殺するナチスへの嫌悪感。 ここから金儲けを度外視した行動が始まります。少女を次に目にしたのは死体となった姿でした。 一刻も早く1人でも多く救わなければ！少女のあっけない死はシンドラーの行動を後押しした。 名作映画『シンドラーのリスト』は何回見ても感動的です。
